As President of the Ju Jitsu International Federation, it’s my pleasure to host you in my home country Greece. Especially Crete, Heraklion is an island and city I really advise to you all.
Under the nice sun of Greece, I wish all National Teams all the best they can perform, this combined World and European Championship again show the great community of Ju Jitsu in the World.
The new category in the Worlds, under 16 years, shows also that Ju Jitsu keep on developing and is still growing. The athletes of these 2 events, the Europeans and the Worlds are the athletes who will attend the Adult events in some years, I am happy to see you all in Greece very soon.

3. Right to participate and categories :
Athletes must be presented and registered by their National Federation. Following 2011 JJIF TC and GA decision for UNDER 16: max 2 persons per nation per category are allowed.
All competitors must have a legal passport and sports passport of their nation.
Competitors that will reach the proper age in the present year (from 1/1 to 12/31) have the right to participate in the designated category (valid for all systems.

PLEASE NOTE according age categories:
Decisions and explanations from the JJIF Technical Congress in St. Petersburg 2010, adopted by JJIF GA and JJIF Board, amended by the JJIF Technical Congress, Board and JJIF Congress in Malmo, 2018:
• The age is considered according to the year of birth, not the actual birth date of the competitor;
• The athlete can compete in one higher age category – goes for Ju-Jitsu Fighting, Ju-Jitsu Duo, Ju-Jitsu Show and Jiu-Jitsu (Ne-Waza).
• However, a team (Ju-Jitsu duo or ju-Jitsu Show) made up of one U18 and one U21 athlete can only compete in U21, not also in Adults +21 (the U18 athlete, although member of an U21 team, cannot jump over two age categories and compete with the Adults)!! Se is true for couples consisting of athletes in U16 and U18.

6. Participation Fee:
$ 70,00 ($ 60 participation fee and $10 for anti-doping program) per fighter and $ 70 ($ 60 participation fee and $ 10 for anti-doping program) per duo couple/team.
7. Liability:
 The organizers of the event (or any of its officials or members) will not be liable or responsible for any personal injury.
 Coaches and team leaders are responsible to make sure that all participants are physically fit, prepared and capable to cope with the tournament. We strongly recommend proper medical and accident insurance.
 All competitors must carry a legal passport of their respective nation.
 Competitors compete at their own risk.
8. Rules and draw:
 JJIF competition rules, Organization and Sporting code of JJIF.
 We make an appeal to all participants to respect the fair-play and JJIF book of Ethics (actual competition rules are provided also on the official web site of JJEU www.jjeu.eu.
 Competition organized by table with all participants getting a second chance.
 Computer program approved by JJIF.
 Draw will be made by the competition and event manager of the national Greece federation, together with a IT specialist and the General Manager of JJIF.
 The draw will be made on Thursday (24th of October 2019) for all the dates and will be final. It will be a public bulk draw; draw will be published on Sportdata directly.
 If a competitor has not the correct weight during the official weigh in or the birth dates are not correct, he/she will stay in a pool/table but will automatically loose the match. No change will be made to the draw and no refund will be given because of not fulfilling the conditions for participating while already registered. THERE WILL BE NO SECOND DRAW.
 General mistakes discovered at the draw can be corrected by JJEU officials (such a wrong names, persons with similar names put in wrong category etc.)

9. Anti-doping Control
All members should make their competitors aware that there could be a doping control for several athletes. The WADA code for Doping Free sports will be applied. By entering the Championship you accept the JJIF Anti Doping regulations.
If you are participating in the Championship and are taking any medication or plan to take any medication, please check with your doctor whether your medication contains any substances on WADA’s 2019 Prohibited List

You will need a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE), if it does. JJIF/JJEU automatically recognizes all TUEs issued by National Anti-Doping Agency (NADAs), so please contact your NADA if you need a TUE and do not already have one.

10. Ju-Jitsu gi and protectors
All competitors must have and use Ju-Jitsu Gi according with the JJIF rules for official competitions. Participants must bring their judogi to registration in order to have the competition logo showed on.
Soft hand and foot protections, belts in proper color, mouthpiece and jockstrap are strongly recommended; chest protectors for female competitors are strongly recommended. All World Championship Athletes must have a Event Backnumber, these can be ordered for $ 10,00 per number at office@jjeu.eu and must be ordered before the 20th of August 2019.

11. Referees :
A fee of 800 USD (680 euro) will be requested for not having the right number of referees and collected by the JJIF on the spot (conditioned for participation before the draw). This rule doesn’t apply to new members during the first 3 years.

Referees must attend the briefing meeting on Thursday (24th October 2019) afternoon and be available as referee until the last fight on Sunday (27th October 2019) afternoon. Not complying with these obligations will result in the above mentioned fee for the respective referees and their National Federations
Neither the organizing committee nor the JJIF/JJEU will be responsible for not respecting this obligation. However, if there won’t be enough referees for the competition to take place in good conditions, JJIF Technical commission may decide to complement the pool of referees with national referees of the organizing federation. Only qualified referees are allowed to be sent by their National Federation. See World and European ranking list of referees.
12. PARA Ju-Jitsu for DUO and JiuJitsu Newaza :
During this World Championship there is a possibility to participate with your YOUTH athletes in the PARA Ju-Jitsu categories for DUO and JiuJitsu Newaza.

13. Coach and Team captain meeting :
Coaches and the team captain of the National Federation need to attend the coach and team captain meeting on Thursday afternoon, special attention will be made about the new APPEAL procedure.

14. Dress code – ceremonies:
Coaches accompanying the athletes to the tatami will wear the national team track suit with sports shoes (closed). For the finals, formal clothes (with jacket) are recommended. Athletes on the podium will wear the white competition Gi. It is strictly forbidden for competitors on the podium to bring national flags or the similar identification other than the one represented in the regular manner on their equipment. Any demonstration of religious, political, personal or commercial sign is prohibited and so is wearing a cap or any other head cover.
The competitors will stand behind the podium according to the following order 2,1,3,3. Every competitor who has won a metal has to attend the ceremony to receive their medal in person.

15. Trophies:
 The first three competitors in each category will receive medals.
 At the end of the competition there will be a trophy for the 3 best countries.
 Certificate for the participation and the position for all the competitors.
 Fair play trophy in men and women category (on proposals of referees and national coaches of the event)
 Special trophies.

16. Advertising Please observe the regulations of the JJI as far as advertising on the Ju-Jitsu-gi is concerned. Please note that during the championship no numbers on the back of the Ju-Jitsu-gi are allowed unless specified by the organizer.

17. Flags and Anthems
Don’t forget to check the flag and anthem of your country with the organizer when you arrive. We suggest that you bring with you your national anthem (short version) to avoid any possible problem.

18. Financial conditions
The organization has made the effort so that if any of the competitors would like to arrive a day before or stay a day longer, the payment per extra day per room will be under the same conditions.
Travel expenses and organization are the responsibility of the participating countries.
The cost of the accommodation and the participation must be paid by each federation to the organizer. See appendix 1 for Hotel and Transport information.

An extra fee of 10% of the total amount is required for payments made after SEPTEMBER 25th, 2019. No refunds for participants not attending the event will be made.

19.Visa
The Organizer is happy to help any country with obtaining visa for athletes and officials. For nations, who need VISA to enter Greece, please send the Organizer as soon as possible (latest AUGUST, 31st) a list of participants with full names, passport numbers, date of birth and positions.

20. Appeal and Challenge procedure
The Appeal and Challenge procedure, active as 1st of January 2019, will be used during this European and World Championship. See attached file with the information.

Of accepting general conditions for participating at the event as defined in Invitation to the event, accepting JJIF Competition Organizing and Planning and fair play in general, and accepting responsibilities and liabilities as follows:
Legality and right to participate. We are fully aware that all competitors must have a legal passport and sports passport of their respective nation! Medical certificate is needed, not older than 12 months, certifying their fitness for competition. Competitors that will reach the proper age in the present year (from 1.1 to 31.12) have the right of participation in designate category (valid for fighting, duo and ne-waza systems).
Responsibility. We hereby attest the responsibility that coaches and team leader are responsible to make sure that all participants are physically fit, prepared and capable to cope with championship.
Liability. We understand and recognize the right to the O.C., JJIF and National Federation not to accept any liability whatsoever. Neither the organizers of the event, nor the GREEK JU-JITSU FEDERATION or JJEU (or any of its officials or members) will be liable or responsible for any personal injury nor for any loss or damage to any property arising out of participations and travelling in connection with this championship.

Transports:
The OC has arranged transport from “NIKOS KAZANTZAKIS” international airport of HRAKLEIO CRETA to the official hotel, for all the participants, who use and are placed in the official hotel and finally back to the airport.
Please contact the organizers concerning arrivals and provide them with exact information about your arrival and departure (means of transport, time and date of arrival, flight number etc.), so they can organize everything on time.
